Signs Your PGT Door Installation Is Failing

• The slab drags or binds at the sill. In Pinewood, this usually means the adjustable sill has settled or the composite pan has cracked from thermal cycling. Florida’s wet-dry seasons expand and contract the concrete stoop differently than the door frame, and after three to five years the gap closes.
• Daylight visible between the weatherstrip and the slab. PGT’s Q-Lon or silicone bulb weatherstrip compresses permanently over time. Once the bulb loses memory, air and water pass through even when the door is locked. We measure compression in thirty-seconds; below 1/16-inch, replacement is due.
